There is a great deal of work ahead at Daytona Beach
Resort. It is important to have a dedicated team that is
local, as much as possible: boots on the ground, and with the
knowledge and skills to make the difficult decisions necessary to
achieve the results owners have prioritized over the next 12
months.
My background is managing budgets, coordinating large teams,
Strategic Planning, Capital Improvements, and Grant Management.
I currently work for the City of Daytona Beach.
I have worked for the Department of Justice as a Paralegal in Tax Division
and have worked at U.S. Secret Service, Branch Chief managing system
integration project teams.
I have served on the Economic
Development Board for Town of Orange Park and its Park and
Recreational Committee.
I have owned a 3 restaurants and a brewery.
I have been appointed by the Governor of Maryland to
Reform legislative initiatives on distribution laws.
About Me
I am mother to 5 adults and Mimi to 9 grandchildren.
The main reason I bought a unit at DBR near the kiddie Pool
was for our family’s use.
I live right off Dunlawton in Port Orange, Florida and
enjoy walking the 2 miles to the Atlantic Ocean from that location
and on the beach in the mornings at Daytona Beach Resort.
(I invite owners to join me.)
My year-round immediate proximity to DBR is an asset
for a board member.
Owners can reach me by email at
chesbrewco@yahoo.com with any questions or concerns on my
candidacy.
My Platform
I understand owners are upset with the current condition of DBR,
and have been for more than half a year. There
does not seem to be a clear path CURRENTLY for fiscal or physical
recovery of the property. I will work hard to provide
one. The communications between various parties have
been at a stand-still on one end or counter-productive on the
other end, with the owners literally paying the price through multiple
special assessments.
DBR needs a clear strategic path, predominantly
outside the courtroom, that will restore and protect the building
through future legislative requirements and future storms.
There is so much WE can accomplish together: Owners and a Board
moving in tandem towards the same goals.
Roger Kubly, David Marquis, and I have been following a project plan that
owners can be part of and witness a monthly review, which exists in
a Resource Center. The slate that is running together
(Roger Kubly, David Marquis, and Carolyn Marquis) has been working
together behind the scenes at DBR since last October.
We have been present and active participants at hearings, court
proceedings, mulching activities, and security back-up; and we have
trimmed bushes, replaced bulbs, painted trim, and filed the
complaints with Code Enforcement. We will not describe the problems,
with which you are vividly familiar, say that they upset us, which
is obvious, and leave you with no evidence that we have been actively
attacking those problems even without being on the board.
Working on a division of tasks, we each have our
specialty areas, which is why we work well together.
We plan to increase owners' active participation by forming various
committees and by providing better communication (monthly newsletter,
blog, and DIY Owner Resource Center).
I currently work for the City of Daytona Beach in Fiscal Affairs Office for DBPD

If we make a mistake or miss a deadline, then we will own it and
take corrective action. We will not blame each other or
other Boards, but look to help and assist each other, when the
burden becomes too heavy.
We as a group believe in each other; we work well together and we
each have a strong desire to help other owners like ourselves, by
being on property and in touch as much as we possibly
can. WE can do this! But WE NEED YOU! Vote
for us - let’s right this ship.
