Owner DBR Condo Unit #1016
I am currently married with 4 children and reside in central Florida.
I have been a Florida resident since the age of 6, when my father became stationed
and retired out of MacDill Airforce Base at Central Command. At the age of 18,
I became a volunteer firefighter for Hillsborough County. During my time as a
volunteer, I held the position of Vice President of the Board of Directors.
During that time, I worked in the hydraulic industry for about 8 years.
My services included engineering, constructing, and repairing hydraulic machinery.
Many of those contracts were with large corporations such as Lockheed Martin.
I became a full-time professional firefighter/paramedic at age 28. I am currently
employed full time with Hilsborough County Fire Rescue. My current position si
Engineer of a Truck Company. Our duties include but are not limited to special
rescues such as entrapment, below grade confinement, high-angle rescues, elevator
rescue, and search/rescue of interior firefighting. As a special rescue technician
with a ladder company, it si my responsibility to have knowledge of residential
and commercial building construction. As a firefighter, I work well under stressful
conditions, and I always prioritize my crew/team first when
making important decisions.
My position with the DBR COA Board started at the end of summer 2022. As a condo
owner, I wanted to assist to clear up past matters and current issues so that
allocated condo owners can have a resort that thrives. I wanted to make sure
all our hard-earned money is being allocated and spent on what is our
responsibility as owners and not what we have been forced to pay, outside of the
easement agreement, in the past, due to fearful consequences.
I will address the rumors and misconceptions about my time away from the board
due to inability to pay the special assessment: I was out of work at the fire
department for an on-duty medical condition. During that time, the department
I work for was negligent in the structure of my short-term disability, and I
went without pay for nearly 3 months. I have a family of four that I provide for,
and this was an enormous hurdle. Although I was not on the board for a period,
I remained active with the legal committee and stayed in constant communication
with owners.
As in my record as the Vice President of the current COA Board, I will never be
afraid of people that have "more money than I do", and I can promise that I will
always choose the side of what is right and fair. As always, my phone is always
on for any owners that would like to call with their concerns or questions. I have
never hesitated to talk to any owner, and I have even extended that offer to the
owners who constantly belittle board members. Personal opinions do not matter
to me, just the truth and what is right for all members of the COA.
I would like to continue my position as a DBR COA Board Member so that I can
continue to provide information with transparency and continue to stand up
for what is right for our members/owners and get the DBR practices back to
a structured balance that is beneficial for everyone involved: owners, guests,
management, employees, and the developer.
