A quick note from Edward Harshman:
I received a Message on April 13 from someone who was going to vote for
Renata and explained that board members don’t have to be personally familiar
in depth with all DBR issues—leadership and strategic-planning talent is
critical and raw knowledge is not. Honorable leaders will seek and get help
from people not on the board, for example on committees. This was a totally new
concept, and I think I cost Renata one vote. This inquiry was from someone
who seemed to expect board members to shun advice. I explained that we don’t
want leaders who are arrogant, claim omniscience, and refuse to consider
dissenting opinions. Lesson taught. Can you spread the word too?

David Marquis was unjustly barred from running for a board position in 2024.
His campaign materials had to be removed from the roster of actual board
candidates, but his platform is worthy of study:

The Cases Against Current Board Members
(no, this is not a collective gripe about the bad situation we are in.
It scrutinizes each board member one at a time.)
